I can’t believe June is already here! This is a bittersweet month for me… my son’s first birthday is on the 22nd, and I’m having a little bit of a mommy crisis. Where did the time go?! Sigh… Anyways, I’ve got some pretty high aspirations for this month’s reading list, particularly because I want to knock out a few ARCs! My entire TBR isn’t pictured above, because some of them are eBooks.
1. A Darker Shade of Magic – V.E. Schwab
This will be my very first Schwab book, and I’m so excited! It’s the book of the month for our group read over at Life & Lit, a Facebook group that I admin.
2. Aftercare Instructions – Bonnie Pipkin
Bonnie’s publicist was kind enough to send me an ARC of this book a month or two back, and I keep meaning to get to it, but it releases on the 27th of this month.
3. The Raven Boys – Maggie Stiefvater
June is a month of firsts for me, because this is my first Stiefvater read, too! I’m technically already 12 chapters in and totally loving this already. We’re having a group read for it in my Goodreads group, Forgotten YA Gems!
4. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer – Michelle Hodkin
I bought the trilogy as a box set from BookOutlet a few months back, but still haven’t started on these. A few friends have been really highly recommending them, and it’s not like I don’t have enough series in progress…
5. Now I Rise – Kiersten White
I was so friggin’ happy to get this ARC, because I really enjoyed the first book, And I Darken. I’m a sucker for hist-fic, especially when it involves gender swaps and retellings, and this book is essentially a gender-swapped retelling of Vlad Dracul, or Vlad the Impaler.
6. Fairest – Marissa Meyer
You guys don’t understand how serious I am when I say I have been forcing myself to stretch out The Lunar Chronicles as slowly as possible, because I love this series so much and cannot bear to see it end. It’s been over a month since I finished Cress, so this month, I’m finally allowing myself to move on to Fairest.
7. Royal Bastards – Andrew Shvarts
I just received this as an eGalley a week or two ago, and it sounds so good! Since it released two days ago, I figured I should get it reviewed ASAP.
8. What I Lost – Alexandra Ballard
This is another print ARC that was mailed to me months ago, and I somehow have managed to let it slip past me, and now it releases on June 6th, so I’m in a time crunch… why am I like this?
9. The Lightning Thief – Rick Riordan
This is my very first Riordan book, and I’m technically already halfway through it and loving it. This book is adorable and fun and perfect and I can’t believe I didn’t pick this series up sooner.
Beyond these nine books, any other reads are just going to be fair game, though I’m going to try to pull all other titles exclusively from my pile of ARCs.
What’s your June TBR look like? If you have a blog post with them, drop your link below and I’ll check it out! Otherwise, feel free to just list them in the comments. Are any of the ones on my June TBR books that you’re hoping to read soon, too – or books that you’ve already ready and loved? Always love to hear your thoughts! ♡
