I grabbed this tag from Malanie, and if youre not following her, you absolutely should be, because Malanie Loves Fiction has to be one of my absolute favorite blogs! She’s such a lovely and hilarious human being and her answers for this tag were perfect.
I love a good cup of coffee, whether it’s regular coffee, a latte, cappucino, macchiato… Mmmm. And now that it’s finally starting to cool off a little here, it’s the perfect time to do this tag!
1. BLACK COFFEE// NAME A SERIES THAT’S TOUGH TO GET INTO BUT HAS HARDCORE FANS.
I gotta go with Malanie on this one: Nevernight! A lot of people feel that it’s a hard series to get into, but the fandom is intense. Case in point: my book-loving partner’s entire forearm is tattooed with the UK cover of Nevernight, with intentions to go back and have the UK covers of Godsgrave and Darkdawn added later on.
2. PEPPERMINT MOCHA// NAME A BOOK THAT GETS MORE POPULAR DURING THE WINTER OR A FESTIVE TIME OF YEAR
I think I have to go with the Harry Potter series for this one, because I feel like I see a lot of people read/reread the books around Christmas-time and in the summer.
3. HOT CHOCOLATE// WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CHILDREN’S BOOK?
If by children’s, we’re talking about picture books, then it’s definitely Guess How Much I Love You. It was one of my favorites as a child, and I can’t read it to my two-year-old son without choking up a little to this day.
If we’re talking about middle grade, though, I think I’d have to go with City of Ghosts!
4. DOUBLE SHOT OF ESPRESSO// NAME A BOOK THAT KEPT YOU ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT FROM START TO FINISH
A Head Full of Ghosts. It’s a story told in memories (I’m a sucker for stories that begin at the end, so to speak), and those usually aren’t quite as suspenseful for me because you know how things end up, but with this one, it’s left shrouded in so much mystery and openness that you just have to follow it all the way through, and it’s fantastic.
5. STARBUCKS // NAME A BOOK YOU SEE EVERYWHERE
Six of Crows is one book that I feel like I see everywhere, whether it’s someone talking about how much they loved it, or someone saying it’s on their TBR.
6. THAT HIPSTER COFFEE SHOP // GIVE A BOOK BY AN INDIE AUTHOR A SHOUT-OUT
I’ll go with one of my most recent TBR additions, Parasite Life. When the author offered me a review copy, she pitched it as a queer YA horror/thriller, and it sounds pretty cool, so I’m excited to read this one.
7. OOPS! I ACCIDENTALLY GOT DECAF // NAME A BOOK YOU WERE EXPECTING MORE OF
The most recent one that comes to mind is Odd One Out, which… well, if you haven’t read my rant review, it’s right here.
8. THE PERFECT BLEND// NAME A BOOK OR SERIES THAT WAS BOTH BITTER AND SWEET, BUT ULTIMATELY SATISFYING
Shades of Magic has to be one of the most bittersweet, satisfying, lovely series and its ending was flawless.
9. GREEN TEA // NAME A BOOK OR SERIES THAT IS QUIETLY BEAUTIFUL
I’m not sure if “quietly beautiful” is to mean the cover or a book that’s underrated, but Summer Bird Blue is both.
10. CHAI TEA // NAME A BOOK OR SERIES THAT MAKES YOU DREAM OF FAR OFF PLACES
Ooooh… let’s go with ACOMAF for this one, because I would love to visit Velaris, as well as the Summer Court. And the Autumn Court, if the Vanserras weren’t such jerkfaces.
11. EARL GREY // NAME YOUR FAVORITE CLASSIC
I’m not really a big classic reader, but I never get tired of Poe’s works, with my favorite being The Tell-Tale Heart.

October 18, 2018I must agree with the Harry Potter series being a book that is more popular on winter or during festive times of the year – I always feel like reading it on Halloween and feature it a lot on Instagram.
