This is a weekly tag hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and this week’s challenge is Top Ten Books I’m Looking Forward to in 2018. Since I’ve already done a 2018 most anticipated list, I decided to talk about ten books that I promise to finally read in 2018! All of these are books I was planning to read in 2017, but didn’t get around to…
1. City of Bones – Cassandra Clare
I feel like this series has been on my TBR literally forever, and I swear I am finally starting the series in 2018!
2. The Rising – Brian Keene
This is one of my mom’s favorite zombie books, and I’ve been promising to read it for years, so it’s right at the top of my “must read” list.
3. Nevernight – Jay Kristoff
I actually picked this up at one point in 2017, but was in a heavy fantasy slump and had to put it down about 50 pages in. I feel like it’s going to be a 5-star read for me, hands down, when I pick it back up, though!
4. Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – Douglas Adams
This is my fiance’s favorite book, and I’ve been meaning to read it for literally a decade, easily, so I promise to read it in 2018!
5. The Hobbit – J.R.R. Tolkien
I have DNFed this book four times now. It’s not because I dislike it, it’s just because I always get distracted and forget about it. I have a really hard time reading books that I’ve seen (and liked) the film adaptations of, anyways. That said, I’m determined to finish it this year!
6. Six of Crows – Leigh Bardugo
I kept swearing I’d read this one before the year ended, but I haven’t finished the Grisha trilogy yet and wanted to keep them separate. That said, even if I have to skip the rest of the Grisha trilogy, I am determined to read Six of Crows ASAP!
7. The Scorpio Races – Maggie Stiefvater
I’ve told the story before of how I accidentally accrued this book, but it’s been on my shelf for years and years, and since I fell head-over-heels in love with Maggie’s writing this year, it only makes sense that I would read this one soon.
8. The Mime Order – Samantha Shannon
I read The Bone Season this spring, and loved it, but I’ve been putting off continuing the series for most of this year because the 4th book doesn’t have a release date! That said, it’s high time I move on and find out what Paige is facing down next.
9. A Gathering of Shadows – V.E. Schwab
Another series I started in 2017 but didn’t continue, despite totally loving the first book.
10. Winter – Marissa Meyer
I haven’t wanted to see this series end, but I read Cress so many months ago that it’s high time I suck it up and finish things up.

December 26, 2017Six of Crows, The Mime Order and AGOS have been some of my favourite books over the past two years, so I hope you enjoy them. The Scorpio Races I liked, didn’t love as much as The Raven Cycle though.

December 26, 2017I still need to read Cassandra Clare, myself. BUT – I loved Brian Keene’s The Rising series. Definitely a different take on the whole ‘zombie’ idea. Hitchhiker’s Guide is one of my very favorite books. Probably the only book I can reread without limit. I hope you enjoy them all if you get a chance to read them.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!

December 26, 2017Wow, so many amazing books on this list I cannot recommend that you get started any faster! Six of Crows made my top ten books of the year in 2018, Leigh Bardugo’s writing is exquisite in that book! December 27, 2017Six of Crows and The Scorpio Races are two of my favourite books. I hope you have a chance to read them in 2018 and love them as much as I did (and still do).
I started reading The Hobbit this year, but I put it aside after a few days. Not because I wasn’t enjoying it, but because other books came in the way. Maybe I’ll be able to finish it in 2018.
Happy readings! 😉

December 27, 2017But, but, but …. Hitchhiker’s Guide and Six of Crows are such must reads. 😉
I still have to read The Scorpio Races as well though. And I still have Nevernight on my shelves but I’m not a 100% sure on it at the moment.
