Time for a break

May 16, 2024

I think I’m long overdue for a hiatus.

Hi, friends. I’m sad to be making this post because I haven’t gone on an actual hiatus in a while, but I think I need to. First, let me start by saying I’m fine and this isn’t due to any concerns or emergencies, thankfully!

It’s just that… well, blogging has felt like an obligation more than a source of joy for me throughout this year, and if I’m not having fun, what’s the point?

I know for sure that I’m taking the rest of May off, but I may take longer. I’m going to play it by ear and see how I’m feeling after a few weeks away. I considered committing myself to taking off until July or even the end of summer, but I tend to be the kind of person who knows when I’m ready to come back to something, so I’d rather just listen to my gut and return when I feel up to it.

I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the month, and of course, you can always find me over on Instagram (@howlinglibraries) and Goodreads. ♥ Much love, book pals!

    1. I’m going to miss you but I totally understand. I hope your time away helps motivate you and helps you get to the point where it’s not feeling like a chore. I will be here waiting for your return!!

      1. Awww thank you Misty!! Don’t worry, I’ll still be around in the discord and DMing you and all. I really hope it helps, too. This is the first time in a LONG time that I haven’t loved blogging and I’m really hoping it’s a short phase!

        1. I hope it is too!! I’ve never taken a break from my blog that wasn’t because of me being out of town. I’m sure my day will come eventually though. We all need breaks at some point.
