The Weekly Wrap — May 31st, 2020

May 31, 2020

For whatever reason, moving this weekly post to Sundays sounded like a good idea — I guess because, in my brain, weeks go from Sunday through Saturday, not Wednesday through Tuesday, and… oh, it doesn’t matter.

? current reads:

*whispering to self* HOW have I not finished some of these yet…?!

  • The Shadow of What was Lost
  • The Unsuitable
  • Catching Fire (re-read, paused)
I meant to finish this reread before Ballad came out, but decided not to rush myself — I’ll just pick it back up afterwards!
  • The Mime Order
  • Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
  • Just Like That
  • Sea of Monsters) (re-read)

✅ recently finished:

⌛ set aside for now | ❌ permanent DNF | ? re-read

  • Red Sister ⌛
I set this one aside for now. I’m having such a hard time with adult high fantasy right now!
  • The Lightning Thief ?⭐⭐⭐⭐
Just as fun the second time.
  • The Flatshare ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I’m obsessed. Flawless. Perfection. I loved this so much!
  • City of Heavenly Fire ⌛
I can’t believe I’m setting this aside again, but I’m trying to clear up most of my current reads so I can focus on ARCs for a while.
  • From Dead to Worse ⌛
My library loan of the ebook expired before I could finish this and there’s a few weeks’ wait before I’ll get it back.
  • Unnatural, Vol. 3: Rebirth ⭐⭐⭐
A good series overall, but this was my least favorite volume.
  • Ghost Squad ⌛
I’m really not in a MG mood right now (aside from the PJO re-reads) and decided to save this for when I’m more in the mood for it so I can enjoy it more. I honestly just know I’m going to adore it whenever I pick it back up.

⏰ up next:

I have NO reading goals this week MONTH besides reading things that make me happy. ♥

? new review arrivals:

Nothing new this week!

???? non-bookish occupations: Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch ...

life updates:

What a week, right? My heart is so heavy, yet I know that is NOTHING compared to what so many others are experiencing right now. I don’t really have anything to say here this week except that Black Lives Matter, George and Bre and Ahmaud and countless others deserved so much fucking better, and things have to change. They should have changed a long damn time ago.

    1. I am glad to see you liked the The Flatshare so much. I have it on hold at my library and I cannot wait to get it!
